Is there a free plan?
No. Every plan is paid, and each one includes every statistics module and the local AI orchestrator. You can try Pro Personal free for 14 days first.
How does the free trial work?
Sign up and you get 14 days of Pro Personal with nothing held back. No card is needed, and there is one trial per person.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you subscribe, nothing changes. If you don't, OrcStat switches to read-only mode.
What is read-only mode?
You can still open, view and export your projects and .sav files, but you can't run new analyses or use the AI. Your data is never locked away. Subscribing again restores full access at the next licence check, with nothing to reinstall. The same applies if you cancel or a payment fails.
What is the beta offer?
The first 500 people to sign up during the beta get Pro Personal free for 6 months. After that they can keep 40% off Pro Personal, $30 a month billed annually or $36 billed monthly, for as long as the subscription stays active. If you cancel and come back later, the normal price applies.
Do students get a discount?
Yes. There is no separate student plan, but students can ask for a code worth 60% off Pro Personal monthly, which makes it $24 a month for as long as you stay subscribed. See how to request one.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of your first payment, in full. Renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel at any time to stop the next one. Refunds are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. Read the refund policy.
What does annual billing save?
About 17%, the same as two months free. Pro Personal is $600 a year instead of $720, and Pro Team is $40 per user a month instead of $48.
How many devices can I use?
Each seat can be active on 2 devices, such as a desktop and a laptop. You can sign a device out from the app or your account and use another instead.
Does OrcStat work offline?
Yes. The app checks your licence when it's online and keeps working offline for up to 30 days between checks. Institutions can get a permanent offline activation for air-gapped machines.
What does a licence check send?
Exactly four things: your licence ID, a hashed device ID, the app version and the operating system. Nothing about your data, your analyses or your AI use. Activating a new device also sends its name, so you can recognise it in your account.
Does any of my data go to the cloud?
No. The engine runs on your computer, or inside your browser for the web version. AI features only talk to model servers you configure, and Local Only mode blocks everything else.
Who handles payment?
Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT and sends your invoices. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.
Which AI models work?
Any model served by Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp or another OpenAI-compatible server. OrcStat rates each model on statistics tasks so you know what to expect.
Can I open my SPSS files and syntax?
Yes. OrcStat reads and writes .sav and .zsav, reads .por, and converts SPSS syntax into OrcStat syntax. OrcStat is not affiliated with IBM.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS today, plus the browser version on any modern browser, which needs you to sign in with a trial or a licence. Windows and Linux builds are next.
